Numerous donors have already stepped forward to donate no-strings funds to this project to get it going. The generosity of these people has been truly stunning, and there's probably no way to thank them as they deserve.

That said, we're designating all those who have donated (or later donate) USD $100.00 or more to the project as "Friends of The Big Meow". Your names (or nicks or handles, if you prefer to remain anonymous) will appear prominently on the Honor Rolls page here at the main TBM website, and on the acknowledgements page of this and all future editions of the printed book...because without you, The Big Meow might never have happened at all. Naturally such special people immediately become full subscribers to the novel. We are also working on some more special ways to thank them. And obviously there will be custom T-shirts for all.* :) More on this as it develops.

There are, of course, some donors -- such as the astonishing Ted Ts'o -- whose contributions have been much larger: their example has made a tremendous difference, spurring a surprising number of others to step forward. We'd like to keep this process going, if at all possible, as our major donors' generosity has the potential to drive down further still the costs of this experiment to the general readership. With this in mind, a new challenge grant will be rolled out during the last week in March. You can check the Challenge Grants page to see what grants are active at the moment. We'd also very much like to hear from donors who are willing to carry the cost of some potential readers who would like not to have to wait to read the chapters as they come out, but are unable to handle subscription costs due to other more pressing expenses (like food, fuel and medicine).
