The
Chumash Languages |
|
These pages are designed to
be user-friendly for people without formal training in linguistics. The
lessons start from scratch and guide you through the topics necessary to
pronounce Inezeño and start putting together simple phrases, and it builds
from there. These pages make Inezeño accessible to anyone who's willing
to learn it.
You'll learn some technical terms to study a language with a structure
and sound system so different from English, but technical jargon is at minimum
here. If you see a term like "person marker" or "glottalization," you'll
also find an explanation when it first appears and the glossary
is only a click or two away.

Illustrated pages for images with Inezeño captions.
