The Big Meow: "public" chaptersMew? :(Okay, I admit it....I've never subscribed or any of that. But I have an excuse!: I've been broke for the last couple of years. :P I discovered this website about a year and a half ago, and promptly bookmarked it as something to come back to once I had a bit more money to spend on things other than food and rent. Well, that time is NOW....and now I'm not sure whether I'd be throwing my money away or not. :( what happend?where has she gone? i realy liked this book! i want it to keep going, please DD keep it up.even if you arnt writing at least post a "hi" so we know your alive. Subscription page problemsNeither of the links on the Basic Subscription page proper seem to be working correctly. The sidebar looks to be working, but the link won't load in Firefox. An error?I just finished reading Chapter 1 of The Big Meow (a great starting chapter) and I think I caught a mistake... I'm not trying to point out every one Duane's mistakes: I'm just saying that they're there, and... I dunno, someone could change it? Here's the passage: Chapter Seven is up for subscribersFriends, It's up at last. There are a lot of places where this notification needs to be posted, and a lot of explanations and apologies to be made... but for the moment it just seems best to get the news out. Chapter Seven is linked to from the normal TBM gateway page at http://www.youngwizards.com/picaresque/ . The same old username and password will get you in if you're a subscriber. HTML and PDF versions are there right now: the mobile .prc vresions will go up in due course, as soon as we receive the conversions. I think it's obvious that the project is dead now.I am very disappointed. I also understand how real life interferes, but no *updates* for five months? Not even "hey, real life, sorry"? That's not something I can overlook. As much as I loved the first two books and loved what I was reading of the third, I have to realize the 100+ dollars I contributed could have been flushed down the toilet, and I feel so betrayed that I don't think I'll be reading Diane's other works anytime soon. It is really a shame, I truly admired her. She was the only one who could write a TOS novel that I enjoyed reading. This delay is getting excessive...I understand that "real life" sometimes gets in the way of things we want to do. But this delay is really getting excessive. I'm starting to feel like demanding my $$ back. Of course, what I really, REALLY want is the book completed. Come on DD. Give us an update. Make us feel like you still care about this project. Reassure us that we haven't been ripped off. lal Please could we have an updateWhile I wish to extend belated condolences and know of the writers strike, (and feel terrible for even asking this) but could we have an update on this project. Thanks The Silent ManMore information about him is available here, if you're interested. New fansI've been reading TBM to Ael and Erin at bedtime, and was surprised at how into the story they're getting without having read the two books that led into it. --Garrett |
